TGC Competition results for week ended June 28
Green Valley Monday. There was some midday heavy rain and thunder which went for 30 or 40 minutes. Only one group pulled out, the other guys in the van sat it out for another 40 minutes which allowed the course to drain. All in all we arrived back at Pattaya some 50 minutes later than usual. The winners apart from one came from the early local guys. Gary Emmett AUS 38 points off 14 Thierry Danzos FRA 37 points off 20 Peter and JP Thomas both with 35 points, so I don’t know who had to do the dishes
Tuesday Greenwood. Played C and A. The course was in excellent order. Finished within 4 hours and back before 3pm. Dodged the rain although it was overcast for most of the morning. is it a coincidence that the winner stayed home last night Butch Furneaux AUS 38 Points off 13 Darren Stanton AUS 36 points from 14 Bob Catlow AUS and Chris Del la mare AUS both with 35 Zed Beloglavic AUS Project Smile near pin
Played locally at Parichat Links Thursday. I mentioned the condition last week when we played there. Again, just continues to improve. The greens in both speed and read are a challenge to even single figure players. I am not sure but would think not one player in the field did not have a three putt. Normal tee time of 9.30 but let off early. Finished well under 4 hours in dry overcast conditions. Ken Grimes AUS (follows Collingwood) 42 points off 20 but working his way down. two with 35 points Robbie Taylor AUS off 13 and Chris De Lamar AUS off 1 Neil Smith NZ won the Project Smile near pin, missed the putt and NZ lost the cricket
Heading into the weekend played Khao Kheow. The weather was comfortable with no rain. An early start and finished in under four hours. Played B and C. using the front tees as it is rainy season with little run. The course once again presented well. The island hole B8 was 142 and the winner today hit pitching wedge. Neil Smith NZ 43 points off 14 and Project Smile near pin Dan Quill 41 points off 14 Bob Catlow AUS 38 points off 18
