TGC Golf Competition results for week ended June 7th
Small numbers for Green Valley, Monday. Just as we were about to amend venues or at least have some changes Green Valley reduced their price. Very welcoming as other courses are offering attractive rates for low season. Played in under 4 hours today with a 5 ball which included following some learners for a few holes. They eventually let us through. For the locals the weather was perfect, for a couple of visitors started warm but settled and finished just before the afternoon rain. local boy Gary Emmett AUS 42 points off 15, back in form Tierry Danzos FRA 36 points off 20 Welcome home Fred Birch who has just had a couple of weeks in the US
Tuesday, Pattavia Century. Yes, it is rainy season and very hot. On the ride home in the van conversation was centred around the weather. For the new guys, even if you are not thirty keep drinking. (water). Must stay hydrated. Most clubs are offering good deals to attract punters. Pattavia Century have shared carts. A good day for the Golf Club. Welcome back Darren Stanton and Danny Willits, neither got in the money but nice to see you both. Shaun Redden 38 points off 23 two guys with 34 points, Ken Grimes AUS and Rob Lea AUS the Project Smile near pin Chris Pelamare, missed the putt Rob Lea goes home Thursday after a month in Thailand displaying mixed results with his golf, thanks for your support
A few sore Australian heads rolled in Thursday. Wednesday night was “State of Origin” rugby which saw the Queensland side get their first win of the series. Back to golf, Pattana was the venue, as splendid as ever. Played C & B in that order. A few solid performances but tough for most. The weather held off on the course although heavy rains in Pattaya 37 points off 11 for Dave Dollard AUS Rolly Dober AUS 35 points off 22 and the near pin Project Smile winner Mark Brown 30 points off 12
Heading into the weekend we played Mountain Shadow Friday. Upon arriving then finding one nine was closed. It was the intention to play the same nine twice. In theory that was great except no-one told the weather god and became washed out within seven holes.
Early in the week a group of guys from the Gold Coast played with the bar and enjoyed our breakfast. Thanks for your great support.
