TGC Golf Competition results for week ending August 2nd
The start of the week. Monday Green Valley Monthly Medal. The weather was perfect. The course is still dry and in need of rain. Some of the greens are patchy and it appears to me like they need some hand watering. I have seen this at other courses but not GV.
There is a group of guys in from Tasmania at the moment. One due in Tuesday which will make 9 in total. They are having a ball, a couple of new guys are really enjoying the social night life, it reminds me of early trips when coming on leave. For those guys reading this and abroad I am sure you can recall the first-time experience. Net 68 off 17 Zed Beloglavic AUS, I marked his card and he had two bad holes including a nine net 71 off 22 JP Thomas THAI two guys with net 36, welcome back Peter LeNoury and Peter Thomas the Project Smile near pin Yui Birch THAI unknown if she made the putt
Tuesday, played Khao Kheow B & C. For rainy season just a great day of golf in the sunshine. Not a spot of rain. The course could probably do with a drink, the reservoirs seem to have a good supply so I’m thinking the ground staff think the course is fine. As we played B first (which has the island green) B8 became the Project Smile near pin hole. Bill Warren AUS 40 points off 8, won the near pin and sank the putt two with 38 points, Ishi JPN and Gerard Cassidy also off 8
Well its rainy season. Wednesday night the BBQ nearly got blown up to Touch a gust of wind blew through LK, ripped awnings and created a mess. Thursday at Burapha a couple of stoppages for rain along with some wind. Played C and D from the front tees. They currently have low season rates which was the deciding factor in making the booking. Alex Davey NZ 35 points off 15 Zed Beloglavic AUS 34 points off 17
Ended the week at Parichat Links. We had a small scare with threatening rain but it came to nothing. The wind was strong and effected the scores for the day even though we played from the front tees. It is less than a month when we last played there. Construction work is still being carried out which is making this course better and better. Grant Dohnt 30 points off 11 TAS Gerry Cassidy 29 points from 10 TAS

The Golf Club Bar and Grill would like to thank the Tassie boys for their support over the last couple of weeks, much appreciated.
