TGC Golf Competition results for week ending May 31st
Monday, Green Valley. Small numbers, yes low season is here. Never the less a good day was had as we were joined by Mick Beresford (hot from a weekend away at Cabin Bury where he cleaned up) in my group. Welcome Mick. The day started hot but soon became overcast and very pleasant. The course is still dry and the caddies very mindful of where they drive the carts. Although my group was held up by some ladies until hole seven we finished well less than 4 hours. A very pleasant morning out. Peter Thomas GB 42 points off 22 Captain 39 points off 17 JP Thomas Project Smile near pin
One of my favorite courses Tuesday, Pattavia Century. On the 10th hole a heavy shower and rain delay for some 15 minutes. The course dried quickly and allowed play to resume. We have early tee times with the thought of missing the rain as mostly in rainy season it falls mid-afternoon. Normally catches the last lucky group. Ken Grimes AUS 38 points off 21, Follows Collingwood in the AFL, nice block apart from that Robbie Taylor AUS 35 points off 14, Follows West Coast eagles, always plays well here
With rain overnight in both Pattaya and Treasure Hill it was sticky Thursday morning. The weather did not get hotter but we played in some light showers and thunder. The course is thriving with the downpours. There is still crab grass on the fairways but the greens had been sanded within the last month with the rain doing them good. Next month the course will be even better. Two months ago, when I booked the course, I received a quote but it was reduced by 150 badt on the day. Great value for money. two with 35 points both off 17, the Shier GB and Captain AUS Jack Best UK won the Project Smile near pin, missed the putt
Friday, Monthly Medal, Silky Oak. In red hot form all week “the Shier” had been cleaning up, but when it mattered beaten on count back. As you can imagine there was a bit of banter in the van for the ride home. The weather was kind with no rain, a little overcast with storms above but went around the groups. two with net 71 Mick Beresford GB winner on count back over Dale Shier GB
