Green Valley Monday. What is really noticeable on the way in the van is the road works at the bottom of 36 where we turn right. Monday the controlling office had 3 or 4 lanes squeezing into two or one if a truck was in the lane. The morning started ok, on the 5th it rained heavy for 5 minutes with the remaining 13 holes played in overcast cool conditions. I think GV is tough, the greens were fast and recent rain has greened up the fairways. three guys with 36 points, JP Thomas wife of Peter, Claus Birch DEN and Ed Karvois US the Project Smile near pin was won by Terry Pettitt UK and sank the putt Welcome back to Terry and Mike Cantrell both regular holiday makers in Thailand and visitors / players to the Golf Club
Small team for Pattana Tuesday. Still enjoying a later start tee time of 11.00am for a reduced all in price of 1250bht. The greens played a little grainy and still difficult to read. Played C and A. Having a Sangket driver was an advantage. Sangket phoned during the day to advise of Police stops, took a diversion on the way home. Home back by 5, presentation completed and then it poured for maybe an hour. Zed Beloglavic AUS 33 points off 15 Tommy Pearson 29 points off 12 and Project Smile near pin.
Thursday another late tee time at Khao Kheow and reduced low season price 1300 bht all in. With the 11.00am tee time and no rain back at the ranch and finished with presentation by 4.45pm. A great day at the office. Played the yellow tee (which is not the front), played A & B, course in great nick. The fairways a little wet therefore no carry or roll. The winners of the internal Ryder Cup Shier and Wood UK, defeated Ferris and Meader US 5 & 4. Mark Wood 39 points off 12 including Project Smile near pin and sank the putt Dale Shier 38 points off 13 Bill Meader US 34 points off 11
Originally booked Silky Oak for Friday, but bumped us so played Greenwood and green it was. They have had rain; everything was presented well. Buggies were mostly path only with occasional drift on to the fairway. Sounds a bit like my golf. The weather held all day between warmish and overcast. No rain not even for the ride home. Early start for the weekend, that’s right I forgot, everyday is Saturday here. Haha Ed Karvois US 40 points off 13 two guys with 35 points both AUS Garry Barker off 3 (a real golfer) and captain
